History

This half term, our learning for topic will continue around the theme of WWII. This is a vast area to study. I would like you to look into this topic and find an area of interest for you to study. You could create this into your very own project.

Here are some examples of areas you might want to study:
1) Anne Frank - who was she and why was she so famous?
2) The battles within WWII

3) What was life like for children during WWII?

There are lots of other areas that you can research. Use
http://www.primaryhomeworkhelp.co.uk/Britain.html to help you with this learning. This is one of my favourite topics to teach and I hope you enjoy researching it too. This can be an ongoing topic over the coming weeks.

Take care and stay safe,

The class will also be taught each Friday afternoon by Mrs A. Wilkinson.

Physical Education

Year 6 will have P.E. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Please ensure that your child has the correct  P.E. kit in school on these days.

P.E. Kits:

Black / blue joggers
White polo shirt

Black / blue jacket

P.E. trainers

As P.E. is an essential part of the curriculum, your child is required to take part. If your child is unable to take part in P.E. written notification will be required.

Homework

You will find a copy of this half term's homework in the block below. Homework is issued each Friday and should be handed in the following Wednesday. Your child will receive a homework sheet, which should be stuck into their homework books and they will be asked to complete either a piece of English or Maths homework in addition to learning their times tables and weekly spelling lists.

It is important your children complete their weekly homework tasks as this will prepare them for life at secondary school. I have also attached some supporting materials in the block below, which your children also have a hard copy of.

Thank you for your continued support.

If you would like a paper copy of any of the information below please let us know and we will be happy to provide one free of charge.
