We want our attendance to be above 95% for the whole year. To do this we must all work together. Last year we were 1% below the national average.
Overall we are heading for an improvement and will be very close to the national average. The main reason we are below is a small number of children missing school because of holidays taken during term time. We are working with other local schools to create an attendance policy common to all schools. Our feeder secondary schools fine parents for taking holidays during term time; we may have to consider this in the near future.
Attendance tip: Good habits start early in life, so even before your child starts school, establish good routines, such as reading before bedtime and going to bed on time.
