Welcome to Swan Class
Year 2

Hello and a very warm welcome to Swan class. 

This year your child will be immersed into an exciting, diverse curriculum where they will feel a sense of belonging as they reach the end of their Key Stage One journey. During this year your child will have the opportunity to embark on many exciting activities, such as a Great Fire of London workshop, maypole dancing and an unforgettable residential visit to Rand Farm in the summer. 

A sense of belonging is extremely important to Swan class, and we are proud  that we have children and families from many different countries of the world. In our class this year we speak English, Polish, Lativian, Slovak, Russian and Albanian. 

We have a highly skilled team in Swan class who are always happy to support and listen to any concerns.

Homework expectations:

We encourage children to read at home at least three times a week. All children are given spellings each week to practise at home. A homework menu is given out at the start of each half term with a selection of activities for your child to complete linking to the current topic. 

PE expectations:

All children take part in PE sessions twice a week which are displayed on the classroom door. Please ensure your child comes to school, with earrings removed, in the correct PE kit: blue/black joggers or leggings, white polo shirt or t-shirt, blue/black jumper/jacket, PE trainers.
