Welcome to
Cygnet Class
Year 1
Welcome
Hello and welcome to Cygnet class Year one.
We believe that everyone is unique and different. We promote a sense of belonging and celebrate our differences.
This year your child begins their key stage one journey. We will be supporting your child to succeed in their phonics screening, which happens in June. This will be done through a variety of fun and engaging activities.
As part of our vast curriculum, your children will be making puppets, moving books, outdoor learning tasks and activities such as identifying plants and flowers.
We will also have some out-of-school visits, including Saint Mary's church workshop and a very exciting visit to Yorkshire Wildlife Park in the summer.
We believe that a child's sense of belonging and heritage is paramount. We are embracing this by sending home a sharing bag. This will enable your child to bring something of importance that represents themselves or their family and share it with the class.
