Welcome to Gosling class
We would like to wish you and your child a big, warm welcome to Gosling class. Year 3 is a special stage in your child's education. Importantly, it is a time when they start to grow in dependence as well as their social, moral and creative skills. We will support and encourage your child’s development and that's why we hold our school motto of ‘Together we can achieve anything!' so close to our hearts. We hope that your child will be very happy this year.
We are looking forward to working together so that we can have a very exciting and productive year. We hope that your children enjoy the new challenges and approaches to learning that Year 3 has to offer!

Educational Visits throughout the year
Throughout the year, we embark on at least one educational visits. This year we will be visiting Mansfield Museum.
Mansfield Museum:
Our visit to Mansfield Museum links to our history topic in the summer term. We will be taking part in a 'Time Trip Tour' which looks at life as a Roman soldier and some of the equipment and techniques that they used. We also look at life as a Roman child, learn some games they would have played and then look at some of the architecture and engineering that they designed and left us. We also handle some Roman artefacts.
Other activities throughout the year:
In addition to the educational visits, we also provide ample enrichment opportunities across the curriculum. We visit the local church, St Mary's, to support our learning in R.E. to learn more about Christmas and Easter; we have opportunities to represent the school in sports tournaments; and we participate in the 'Jingle Jog' at Christmas time held at Sherwood Pines.
